Ryan C Heffernan: Kevin Garnett Retires from Basketball

Kevin Garnett is unfortunately retiring from basketball. This star player is certainly a contestant for the Hall of Fame, after being the NBA all-star 15 times, receiving an Olympic gold medal, and the NBA champion in 2008. He was scouted immediately out of high school and drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995. He then went on to play with the Boston Celtics, the Brooklyn Nets, and finished his career with the Timberwolves once again.

While Garnett was with the Timberwolves, the team saw their greatest period of success ever, winning various titles and championships. The same thing happened when he played for the Celtics. Success followed him throughout his entire career, particularly when he joined the ranks of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jason Kidd as the fifth player in the league to play more than 50,000 minutes, due to his amazing talent.
